Window & Cabinet Locks in Sacramento
A window, cabinet, drawer or filing cabinet needs a working lock. Call (916) 244-3934.
Licensed, insured and bonded. California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services License No. LCO 6830. Open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Proof of ownership is required before any lock is opened.
These are the locks people stop noticing. A window catch that has never worked, a filing cabinet whose key went with the last office manager, a display cabinet that will not lock. None of them are emergencies, and all of them matter the moment they do.
What the job involves
- Window locks fitted to sash, casement and sliding windows, matched to the frame material
- Cabinet, drawer, cupboard and display-case locks supplied and fitted
- Filing cabinet and key cabinet locks opened and replaced when the key is gone
- Keying multiple cabinets alike so one key runs the set, where that is what you want
- Replacing worn cam locks and push locks that no longer hold
What to have ready when you call
- What the lock is fitted to, and what it is made of
- A photograph of the existing lock and its fixing, which answers most questions immediately
- Whether any key exists
- How many units need to match, if it is a set
- Proof of ownership, or authority for the premises if it is a workplace
Honest limits
Window locks are a genuine trade-off, not a pure upgrade. A key-locking window catch is also a locked exit in a fire, so on bedrooms and any window that is part of an escape route the key has to live somewhere reachable in the dark. That is a fire-safety point, not a sales point, and it is worth deciding deliberately. On cabinets, the lock is usually stronger than the panel it is fitted to -- a lock on a thin door slows a casual hand, and nothing more. Say what you are actually protecting and you will get an honest answer about whether the lock is the right spend.

Common questions
My filing cabinet key is lost. Do I need a new cabinet?
Almost never. Filing and key cabinets can usually be opened and the lock replaced, which costs a fraction of the cabinet.
Can several cabinets take the same key?
Yes, where the locks are compatible. Keying a set alike is normal for offices, and it is decided at the point of supply rather than afterwards.
Are window locks worth fitting?
On ground-floor and accessible windows, generally yes. On a bedroom or an escape window it depends on where the key will live, because a locked window is also a blocked exit.
Can you match the existing hardware?
Usually. Send a photograph of the lock and its fixing before the visit and the right part can be brought rather than ordered afterwards.
