Honest limits
Rekeying assumes the lock is mechanically sound. A cylinder that is worn or damaged will not be improved by new pins, and replacement is the honest recommendation.

Common questions
Is rekeying as secure as new locks?
For the purpose of retiring old keys, yes — no previous key will work afterwards. New hardware is about upgrading the lock's own resistance, which is a separate question.
Can every door take the same key?
Usually, if the locks are compatible. It is a standard part of the visit.
How soon after moving in should I rekey?
As early as you can. You cannot know how many keys the previous occupant issued.
